It is rumoured that long ago witches were wise women; the magic they worked was tied up with herbs, potions and lotions. It all went horribly wrong as the Church gained power and decided that Witches were a bad thing, hence the Wicked in Wicked Witch.

You need several things to be a witch, pointed hat, broom, pale skin and a nasty cackling laugh! Hang on, I'm describing my mother-in-law, come to think of it I could not find the broom last Halloween and I did ask why she cooks in a cauldron!

The Witch shown comes from our friends at www.fancydress.com, they have oodles of Witch costumes, nails, hats and warty noses! The one we asked them for is the Witch from the Wizard of Oz, now lets frighten the Toto out of Dorothy!
